Why do autistic people struggle to sleep?
Sleep problems are twice as common among autistic children as they are among typical children or those with other developmental conditions. Autistic adults tend to have insomnia: It takes them an average of 11 minutes longer than neurotypical people to fall asleep, and many wake up frequently during the night
In this follow up session to 'Sleep - The Fundamentals', Nickie looks at why sleep is affected by autism and strategies parents of autistic children can use to help them sleep better. The webinar will also be informative and useful for autistic adults with sleep difficulties.
What is covered in this webinar?
·  Common sleep problems in autism
·  How sleep deprivation affects autistic people
·  The reasons for additional sleep difficulties in autism
·  Strategies to help restful sleep for autistic people
